Brush painting small parts
Posted by wjbwjb29 on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 6:56 PM

Hello;

I am curios as to how many of you brush paint smaller items for the model or do you break out the airbrush . I have read that all the parts should be painted all at the same time but thats only in a perfect world. I find myself painting a small group with the airbrush and days latter shooting the same color on another group. I have started brush painting small stuff because alot of the paints today brush very well.

Yup, ill try to spray the undercoat but detail painting or small parts get brushed. a drop of acrylic flow improver seems to  help better than loads of thinners.

For AFV's, I assemble everything and then brush small parts with Vallejo acrylics or MM enamels.  I sometimes use colored pencils or permanent markers.  My motto is, "If you can see it, you can paint it.  If you cannot see it, why paint?"

For airplanes, I do airbrush ordnance and fuel tanks, though.
