They aren't the same paint formula.

Apparently, so many people requested that the *color* come back, that Testors didn't quite "get it"

So, yeah, you can buy Reefer White in an MM bottle,,,,,,,but, it is Reefer White MM Acrylic paint, not Polly Scale formula paint.

And Polly Scale always came in the little 1/2 oz bottles, in addition to the 1 oz bottles. You bought colors such as Olive Drab in the 1/2 oz, But Railroad colors in the 1 oz, with a very few Railroad colors in the 1/2 oz.

If you want Polly Scale that is not at your hobby shop, there are a few online sources for some of the colors, and Amazon and Ebay sellers for some of the colors.

I have listed the sources in about 4 threads on FSM, and have a FS 595A list here for anyone that wants to substitute Railroad paints to get US Military colors.

z15.invisionfree.com/.../index.php

every paint match was made by painting two coats on a label stuck on cardstock, then compared to an actual vintage FS 595A (1968) .  I was going to photograph each match and post it online, but, caught sufficient flak that I decided to just let it sit in limbo-land.

But, if you get any use out of it, feel free to give it a look.

I know that MM has put new colors out under their label that have the same names as Polly Scale paints. But do they have the same formulation as PS? Polly Scale acrylics are far superior to MM Acrylics in my experience.

I was in a hobby store today that still had a decent supply of Polly Scale paints and noticed that they had some smaller bottles of Model Master acrylics in some of the slots. To my surprise the Model Master paints had the names of the Polly Scale paints that used to go in those slots. The owner told me that Testors is going to keep the Polly Scale colors but market them as Model Master brand instead ot Polly Scale. Of course, the MM bottles are a lot smaller than the old Polly Scale bottles, but at least it appears people will still be able to get the colors they thought were going to go away. Maybe everybody here already knew that, but it was news to me.
