Thin Tamiya paints at least 50/50. I have found that their white XF-2 dries out fast once the cap has been opened.

Don thanks for the advice these were brand new paints  which somehow  even thinned (apparently not enough) still were not stirred enough. Thanks...

While coverage with white or yellow can be a problem, I find I thin these colors the same as any other color.  Now, the clogging may be not enough thinner, but there is another problem with hobby paints that will clog airbrushes. Even thinned paint tends to precipitate out when it stands for even a few hours.  It needs to be stirred thoroughly! I find it takes more stirring than many other types of paints.  I have never regretted stirring paint too much! I have regretted not stirring it enough.
