How do you use it? Can it be brushed/air brushed? Might buz down to autopro abd grab some. I have used Blutac as a mask for camo markings before with great results.

It's available in several containers, from a small bottle with a brush in the cap to 22oz. cans or 11oz. spray.

You might want to read the page before getting this product for modeling purposes: "PLASTI DIP® is flexible and won’t crack, chip, peel..." and further on: "Surfaces which are non-absorbent such as metals should be primed using our recommended Primers..." As to removal: "

  • Does it really peel off?

Yes, Plasti Dip® really does peel off.  We always suggest a minimum of 4-5 coats, not only for durability, but to make sure it peels off in large pieces when you are ready.  ..."

And perhaps most importantly for most of us:

  • "Do you ship internationally?

No, Plastic Dips & Coatings does NOT ship outside of Australia."

Bottom line, use the tool designed for the job.

Agreed!  Plastidip works well when coating tool handles, ie. hammers, screw-drivers, pliers, etc.  But, even then, it doesn't stand up to much exposure to solvents either.  I'd use something else for modeling.

I was just curious as a mask or unsure about a color and not have to commit to it and strip it down just peel it off

That is how I understood your first question. The stuff will spray on and does peel off leaving no residue on 1:1 chrome and auto paint.

As to how it would work on a model for masking?? Good question and now you have been appointed as: "Tester Of The Stuff"(TOTS).

Your job is to get out an old test model, set it up (prime etc.) and then test the Plastic dip. If it works you'll be awarded the highest modeler prize of all (details to follow in a separate envelope).

You report on this cutting edge procedure  will make your name a household word and the fame and fortune you receive will be beyond price.

Good Luck TOTS (formally known as PWS73703) We Salute You
