order them from someone like Tower, in the original Floquil and PollyScale Railroad bottles,,,,,,they are much cheaper that way, especially if they have the green checkmark in the item listing (very low shipping with that checkmark)

Yeah. They're selling at $7 a bottle at my Hobby Lobby.
BlackSheepTwoOneFour Chrisk-k - it comes in both acrylic and enamel. That is very impressive Echo! I'm sold! Looks like I'm gonna get a couple bottles of CreateFX. LOL!

Thanks.
For weathering I recommend the rust colors 1 & 2, and the oil & grease. The mud and winter are no good, IMO.
The washes are a bit pricey compared to alternatives.
Chrisk-k What are those enamel stains? Based on the description at Testors, they sound like washes.

According to Testors it is just a naming convention. They are both highly concentrated washes that need to be thinned down. Who knows what the thinking behind the different name is.

This tank was weathered with nothing but CreateFX stains and washes to test them out. I really liked the results.
Those stains came out in Floquil and PollyScale bottles,,,,,with 2012 copyright dates on the labels, just before RPM pulled the plug on new production paints from those two lines. (among other 2012 labels on other paints in both lines)
A theory was posted that those are the same paints, rebottled in newly labeled CreateFX bottles.
I hope that is true, because that means they are those two old formulas, with all of the advantages that implies.
looks like interesting stuff
Interesting. I might look into getting a couple. Winter stain and the oil/grease stain.
The local HL has had these for about 7 months. They were originally on the isle with the train/diorama supplies. If one never checked there they would have been missed.
Recently the local HL rearranged things in the models/trains/diorama/toys/education isles. The These Testors washes/stains are now next to the other hobby paints on the model isle.
I've bought some of the washes/stains. Other than my own homemade formulas I have nothing to compare them to. I prefer the Testors to mine!
I'll try them. Although I primarily use acrylics, I use enamels for detailing and dry-brushing.
Some nice wood colors there! I'll have to try them. The concrete could be useful too. Haven't seen them in shops yet, but I'll be keeping an eye open for them. I ordinarily use Testors enamel paints, so I would like to try these.

When I went to testor's site, I couldn't find it there. Maybe I'm not looking in the right link. Oh well....
Of course they do . . .

I stopped by the Hobby Lobby this morning and came across some new paint by Testors (or washes I should say) called Create FX. They come in bottles in both acrylic and enamel and spray paints. Looks to me they're like a stain of sorts and have them in a variety of wood colors (pine, mahogany, maple, etc...), wet look, oil stain, winter stain, rust stain, etc...
Has anyone seen them and/or tried them yet? This is the first time I've seen them in the model kit./ paint aisle. The Testors website doesn't even have anything on them.
