So, I'm new to the hobby after a 35 year break. I'm doing a car model (a subaru BRZ that I own in real life) and messed up on the body. What are my options at this point. Here's what I laid down: several coats of the base coat tamiya blue mica acrylic. Sanded with 2000 then 3500 grit paper. That looked great. Laid down several coats of Testors clear coat laquer. There was a flaw so I sanded, well, I over sanded and wore right thru to the plastic. I then remanded and laid down a couple more coats of the acrylic blue mica. I plan on putting a couple more coats of the clear laquer at this point. Is that going to be a problem? Is the paint going to peel?
To top this all off I want to do a pearl clear coat but all that's available is enamel.
i want to get as close to a perfect automotive finish as possible. What should I do to save this?
