I frequently use Post-It notes and paper towels as masks.  I never had a bleeding problem.

TarnShip

if you think you will get bleed through onto your paint job,,,,,,,,,after you cut the paper masks out, lay them out flat and spray them with a coat of Pledge (Future)

now, you have Acrylic sheet masks,,,,,,sort of like Badger Frisket masks without the adhesive on them

Rex

That's a great tip, Rex. Thanks!

Hi John,

Not sure what kind of paper EagleCals paper is but I frequently use paper masks. If the paper gets wet while spraying you're probably putting on too heavy a coat or using too thin a paint. Multiple thin coats and you should be fine with paper masks. For example Post-It notes are often used for masking - even wet newspaper has been used though I have no experience with it.

Paper templates (Mask)

Hey all,

My EagleCals decal set came with a paper template for masking a more intricate paint scheme.  Can I use paper as a mask?  I am worried about the paper soaking up the paint and it bleeding trough.

I will be air brushing with Tamiya Acrylics.

If you don't recommend paper masks, what do you all recommend I do.

Thanks

John
