Stippling is the application of paint using a vertical motion (ie. up and down) of the brush rather than a linear motion (brush strokes). Similar to dry-brushing in that you remove most of the paint from the brush before applying.

Hello all!  What does it mean please when a modeler says they did the following in one of their steps re weathering a model:

"I lightly stippled raw umber onto the lower hull panel."
