I guess I'll find out when I do the base coat. Its a learning process.

I though the idea of pre-shading was to be able to cover it with a uniform coat.  Otherwise you could just paint the model a single undercolor and shade each panel.

I like to fill in the centres to the point where I'm happy with the overall look and then I go back and spray on a fairly thin coat of the base coat. Make sure to mist it on and not over do it or else you will ruin the effect. Good luck.

Quick question about preshading

I'm preshading my first model. My question is when I put the base coat over the preshading, am I focusing on the center of the panels and slowly going towards the outside to leave some of the black showing through or just lightly going over everything without focusing on just the center of the panels?
