You want Gunze H20 and H30. H20 dries to a satin finish. Its not dead flat. Just right in my opinion.

Gunze or Tamiya Satin coat?

Hi,

I’ve been reading up about oil washes, in particular one website had an interesting article about the difference between a Gloss, Satin and Matte varnish undercoat when doing an oil wash.  Of the 3, Matte is good for staining and weathering, Gloss is good for panel lines to flow better, and Satin is a compromise between the two.

I live in Asia, where Gunze and Tamiya acrylics are widely available. I have not seen Satin clear coats from any of these two manufacturers before, does anyone know if it exists? I could get Vallejo Satin here, but it is costly to either buy in the shop or ship from Europe. I also cannot find Future anywhere in the shops.
