It's okay, just as long as the acrylics are thoroughly cured, at least 24 hours

Enamel sealer over acrylic paint
Posted by dbratton on Saturday, September 6, 2014 10:56 PM

I am looking for some advice that will hopefully prevent a potential disaster with my model build.  I have always used Future (Pledge) to seal my models when the painting is done prior to putting on decals.

On my current build, I have used Model Master Acrylics for the paint job.  I am contemplating using Hannants Satin Varnish to seal the model.  Is it a good idea to put an enamel over acrylic paint?  Also, if I use the Hannants Satin Varnish along with a thinner would this be ok over acrylics?

Thank you!
