There are a couple of good sites to help with this, Zach.

go to www.simmerspaintshop.com/page-RGB-colors-Germany.html (change "Colour Swatches" on the left for different services

or

www.cybermodeler.com/index.shtml (start at color menu at the top)

after you make a note of all the colors you want for your model,,,,,,go to

http://www.paint4models.com/  (right click "Play" if it stalls during loading),,,,,,customize that for the paint ranges you want to look up (remember to look at all three FS ranges, sometimes your 1xxxx only comes in 2xxxx jar labels)

If you are stuck with one of those instructions that only give a Humbrol or Revell number,,,,,,you can look it up in their columns on the table and find a different paint company's number, or an FS/RAL/BSC number to look for alternatives with.

This gets you in the ballpark,,,,,,,it gives matches based on what each paint company says is in their bottles.

I'm currently working on an Airfix kit (Messerschmitt BF109 E7 Trop) and the Humbrol references are not very detailed about specific paint shades.  So I was wondering if there was a good reference out there to look up the specific paint for the particular subject that you are working on?
