Laquer thinner and bare-metal finishes

Hi I was wondering if you mixed testors glosscote with Laquer thinner and sprayed it over your finished model if it would craze the plastic. Also, after you paint a good natural metal finish, do you apply a gloss coat or just leave it as is? Or if you do paint a gloss coat, will it affect the finish?
