Your description of the problem is incomplete. Did you spray XF-76 over the salted area?  Or did you put salt on XF-76? Was there a base coat?

Salt reaction
Posted by farticus on Monday, November 17, 2014 5:15 PM
Hello, I have recently started building models and have run into a problem. I have applied salt on the leading edge of the wing using plain water to get it to stick. I let it dry and painted it the next day only to have it discolor (lighter) where to salt has been applied. I am using Tamika XF-76 IJN grey green paint thinned with Tamiya thinner. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and more importantly, what can I do about it. Thanks.
