+2 on Don's opinion. Last year I went a little goofy and bought some large and expensive case-kits of acrylics. I've maybe touched 3% of the colors, if that.

+ 1 on Don's comment. Me myself, I've been keeping a list of paints I need for my aircraft in my stash. Now that I got some Christmas $$, I'm good to go to fulfill my paint list along with a couple of kits I have my eye on.

I just buy the paints I need for the aircraft I am starting.  I only keep a few colors on hand for general use, like flat black, flat aluminum and gloss silver.  Otherwise I just buy what I need for the kit.

I'm just getting started with airbrush and having a hard time deciding on which paint colors to start with. My interest is with WWII aircraft, plastic models. I'm looking for the basic's. Tamiya paints look good. I will be using Iwata-Medea Eclipse HP CS Dual Action Airbrush Gun / Gravity Feed and a Portable Airbrush Air Compressor Oil-less 3L Tank 1/5 HP (currently out of stock)
