DH - 82 A/C Tiger Moth
Posted by barker94 on Sunday, January 4, 2015 1:26 PM

I have a Revell Tiger Moth as mentioned above and have been painting it without any problem until now.

I've come across a problem in the instructions which is that a lot of the components don't seem to have paint numbers attached to them. This has given me an issue as I don't know what colour to paint these components and I want to make it look as authentic as possible.
Would anyone know why this is and have any suggestions/advice?

Many thanks,
Tom

Do an internet search for that model plane. You will likely find some pics of the real thing.

Using google, select the "image" option to do an image search on Tiger Moth or "Tiger Moth".

Even when kits give instructions on paint colors, their suggestions for small parts and engine details are frequently incorrect.  Only the broader areas of fuselage, wings and tail can be depended on.  That is why it is so important to look for reference material. In addition to searching the aircraft, I also usually search on engine type. I believe the moths used Cirrus engines, but forget what one calls the engine model.
