We have some pretty talented artists right around here. Mike, of course, but also Steve Barba. I saw a post by him on the Diorama forum with a link to his web site. Take a look at some of his aircraft nose art: http://www.thunderboltgallery.com

Thanks for the compliments. Yes I do use a projector because frankly I am not that great at drawing without one. Big Smile [:D]
I use an Artograph Super AG100 which they don't make anymore. The newer version of mine is called the Super Prism. They have them at Dixie Art: http://dixieart.com/Artograph_Projectors.html

You might want to keep an eye on Ebay for a deal on one. I have seen some projectors like mine go for a very good price. Here is one like I have: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3803160929&category=15257

The cheaper projectors are not worth it unless you are really short on funds. They do not produce bright enough images to see well enough to trace your lines.

I hope this helps.

Mike

PS I like your screen name. I have always been a Thor comic book fan and I still have over 300 in my collection. Wink [;)]

Check out the paint jobs on these trucks that Mickey Harris did as they are incredible! [:0]
I used to have a video tape where he painted some wolves on the back of a leather jacket, but this is way beyond that!
Have you ever seen a $130,000 paint job? Look at the Kenworth tractor in the middle.
You have to click on each individual truck picture on this web site to see the paint job on each one at the bottom of the pages.

Tweety,

Surprisingly, there are quite a few highly skilled airbrush artists out there, but I consider only a handful as good as Michael Harris who painted this truck.
Some other awesome artists are these:
Chris Cruz: http://www.chriscruz.com/HOME.HTM
Dawne Holmes: http://www.dawneholmes.com/
Vince Goodeve: http://www.goodevestudio.com/frame.htm

Well, humour asideWink [;)], it would be truely awesome to have that much dedication, and show it on such a large scale.

The prime mover dragon scheme has so much intricate detail it's amazing.

I wonder how many other people out there can manage the same kind of skill?

I wouldn't worry about scratchbuilding it, I just wonder who is going to produce the decals or better yet, freehand it with an airbrush. Big Smile [:D]
Better buy a Sotar 20/20 and get some urethanes and get to practicing. Wink [;)]
