LOL Duster! I got it now.

I really believe Mr. Surfacer did something to the Teflon bearing as the AB worked fine spraying it. Thank God for YouTube and the piece explaining the replacement procedure as Badger would have done it for free but I had to flip for the shipping $8 each way.

I don't quite understand your post or your response.

Anyway, the needle bearing was the culprit in a brand new air brush. I have several extra bearings and replaced it in a just a few minutes. I suspect Mr. Surfacer in causing the damage on the Teflon needle.

Glad you found the problem,  and it was an easy fix.

re: your not understanding  my first message above.  I had already sent the message ("...deep cleaning..."  ) and happened to reread your  initial message ( thus ..."read ALL the words"...  )  Seeing I had made a idiotic  statement, I went back and edited my message.  But for some reason  (it was late at night for me) I crossed out the text and inserted my new statement .

There you have it  and now that I have explained it; I see it makes me look even sillierthan before.

Again glad you found the solution to your problem

I'd go into a deep clean mode on the airbrush; just the tiniest bit of paint can be a problem.

It would help, if I read ALL the words first, instead of jumping in with the first thing I "think"of --sigh

I thought of that but it's the same LT I use on the other 2 brushes and the same brand I have been using for years.

Hmm, mabye. Or the Hardware brand lacquer thinner was too hot? Mr. Color lacquer thinner is generally pretty mild.

I did thin it very well. It sprayed very well. The problem came after cleaning the AB as I always do. It pulsates even with water so I wonder if the Mr. Surfacer damaged the Teflon seal.

I find the best thinner is Mr. Leveling thinner. The retarder in it helps immensely. 1000 is a bit coarse to airbrush. I'd say a .4 or .5 tip at least to spray it. Nothing finer. It will just spit and clog. Make sure to thin it around 1 part paint to 2-3 parts thinner.

Spraying Mr Surfacer

Has anyone has any issues with the air brush when spraying Mr. Surfacer? I used Mr. Surfacer 1000 thinned with the usual LT I use and it sprayed fine but after cleaning the Badger 150, I find it's pulsating. It's a brand new AB and I broke it down and cleaned it several times to make certain the tip was correctly seated in the tapered mount.

It's looking like the needle bearing could be the problem.
