Mr. Primer/Surfacer
Posted by Souda99 on Saturday, March 7, 2015 11:54 AM

Have any of you fellow modelers ever used the Mr Hobby Mr Primer or Mr Surfacer products? If so is it worth the price? Or is there another primer/surfacer out there that every one uses? It was suggested to me but the only place to find it were I live is on Amazon and they are asking $25 for a 40ml bottle of Mr Surfacer 1200. If anyone knows of a similar line of products for priming and surfacing that is equal to or better in quality that doesn't cost a small fortune please let me know.

You can buy these products on line at spruebrothers.com.  Yes, they are worth the price.  Good stuff.

scalebohhyist.com sells a 40ml bottle for around $5.  I have had nothing but superb services (and killer prices) from scalehobbyist.

I get just about all of my stuff from them now.  Well packaged, quick shipping and usually the lowest price around.  They've been a little low on the Mr. Surfacer products lately though.

Im deffinately sold. Especially when I can pick up 34 bottles of Tamiya paint for a little over $60. I cant get more than 5 or 6 bottles at Hobbytown for that price. I even found one of my next projects on there for $70 and thats for 3 1/400 ships. Most sites I have seen want that for just one.

Cool! It's better to order stuff from them in batches.  They'll kill you in shipping for one can of primer!  ; )

I've ordered kits from scalehobbyist before but generally don't order a lot.

Mr. Surfacer is kinda hard to find locally and as freezing temperatures are waning , I will be adding paint to my next order.

Since I found Scalehobbyist, my stash and paint selection have been exponentially growing.
