Yes, too much distance is a common source of roughness/orange peel.  And, too high of a pressure forces you to too great a distance. So try lowering the pressure a bit and watching your distance. I typically use 15- 20 psi.

Hi everyone. Just painted the first coat on a mosquito. It came out a little grainy. I believe I'm holding the airbrush a tad too far out? Please tell me I'm right!
