Phil_H Gotta say, Tamiya acrylics are more difficult to brush paint unless you know how to handle it. Vallejo is much easier to work with for the inexperienced.

When it comes to airbrushing, I find Tamiya acrylics work the best and the easiest.
When it comes to hand-brushing, I find Vallejo acrylics work the best and the easiest.
Both Model Color and Air work well when hand-brushing. I have 15 Model Air bottles. I don't airbrush them because Tamiya acrylics work infinitely better.

When we talk about brushing Vallejo, we're meaning the "Model Color" version, right? Not the "Model Air"...?

I must apologize to JunJon but that your statement regarding Vallejo is for experienced painters only is beyond ridiculous. Just saying....
I disagree Vallejo is for "experienced painter only." What difference does the brand makes be it Tamiya or Vallejo? Vallejo is great for brush on paint - not strictly for airbrushing.
Vallejo is another brand that I can say recommended for experience painter only. If you are just starting in scale modelling, Tamiya paint is a good start (IMHO). A new Tamiya bottle stir or not stir should be thick like a syrup but thinner. Before buying the paint. Open it and tilt it around, see how the binder moves inside the bottle.
Yep, I was handbrushing

Unless you handbrush, Tamiya performs much better than Vallejo, in my and many others' experiences.
Giving up that easily? LOL! Return it and get a new bottle simple as that. Don't let the LHS tell you any different.
I might just go to HL and get some Vallejo Acrylic.
Return it and tell them you want a replacement. Tell them it looked very thinned down. When you get a new replacement bottle, open it and check to see the consistency of the paint.
Assuming you stirred well, I guess someone had played around with the bottle before you bought it.
You did stir it well, right?
"All you mugs need to get busy building, and post pics!"
Ok, this is going to sound like such a beginner question but I am curious. I recently bought some NATO black from my LHS, and it looks almost like water or that it has been thinned down, is this normal?
