Acrylics Sheets for Spray Booth?
Posted by Chrisk-k on Sunday, April 19, 2015 2:23 PM

Has anyone tried to build a spray booth using acrylic sheets?  They are affordable, strong and easily glued.  I also think that the result would be more stylish than a cardboard or storage tote booth (yes I do care about the styleSmile.  Plus, lighting will be super easy thanks to the transparency of those sheets.

Yeah, I wish I had a link, but I found one when I searched DIY airbrush booths. It was gorgeous!! this one had a flat face with doors that swung horizontally, if I recall. There was another one, though, that had a sloped face with a folding door that hinged on top. There were very good plans that went along with it, including a materials list. It was pretty simple too. I wish I had links for you, Chris. Sorry about that Sad

I find acrylic (plexiglass) quite a bit more expensive than other sheet materials.  I just use a small strip right under the light I put on the top of the booth.

As you use the booth the paint will gradually cover the acrylic, preventing light from coming through.  Three ways to handle this- replace whole panel, make small removable and replaceable panel, or use transparent tear-off strips (I use later method on the acrylic strip in my booth).
