New airbrush bubbling problems.

LOL  i got the same problem and its like a curse that never goes.  I believe i lost some hair over my maddening frustration........arrrrhhhhh!

I've just recently solved a similar issue with my VJR. I just put a new needle, nozzle and air cap on the airbrush and got the bubbling problem too. After removing the cap it was gone, but the airbrush didn't want to paint too well, and got pretty cumbersome - watching for that sharp needle all the time. At one time I put the cap on and the bubbling came and went - that made me think. So I just turned the pressure down a little on the regulator and voilla - no bubbling any more. Previously had like over 3 bar/50 psi, now I have a little over 2 bar/30 psi. The thing is, when you take the cap off, the airbrush uses much more air and the pressure sometimes has a tendency to decay, so I set it a little higher before - a mistake. By the way - I noticed on a fine nozzle, that the air from bubbling kinda clogs the airbrush - tiny air bubbles behave like foreign objects in the paint and take some pumping with the needle before the paint flows smoothly again. If I take the nozzle cap off and use it , no bubbling.  But as soon as the nozzle cap goes anywhere in place, bubbling.  Please help. I watched every YouTube video and it still bubbles.  

The nozzle cap or its seal might have been damaged.  Why not try a new nozzle cap?

Used a tamiya primer thinned with tamiya thinner.

Can't help you with the bubbling, but if you're using Tamiya Liquid Surface Primer in the bottle, be aware that it won't thin with X20A acrylic thinner. It's a lacquer based product and should be thinned with Tamiya lacquer thinner or MrColor thinner (or Mr Levelling Thinner)

A friend loaned me his Sotar, it had a VERY TINY split in the nozzle, (I may well have caused it,) that led to cup bubbling. It required really strong magnification just to find the split, replacing the nozzle cured it.

When assembling, one must guard against putting strong forward pressure on the nozzle with the needle. Only when the front bits are assembled and secured should the needle be inserted, then gently eased forward to seal the nozzle/needle fit.

Remember, if the needle is all the way forward you'll have to back it off a bit just to get paint to flow anyway, so no need for much forward force. I had a siphon Neo, I had reservations about the tiny O-ring at the tip, if it gets distorted that could possibly contribute to bubbling as well. Hope you get it sorted quickly.

I took everything out and tried using it that way to see if it works. Took the needle out, still bubbles, took off the very small tip that you have to use the mini wrench with, still bubbles. Everything is spotless, no build up.

Air is entering through the nozzle - it's either not sealing or is split at the tip.

I was getting the same thing in my Badger and it was a bad needle bearing.

Possible causes include:

1. The nozzle cap is blocking the airflow. Is the hole clean?

2. Dry tip. Did you clean the tip of the needle?

3. Damaged tip or nozzle.  It's easy to damage either part when cleaning if you are not super careful.  I damaged the nozzle of my HP-CS after the 1st use because I dropped it on the floor.
