British Planes .
Hello ;
You know I am a bad boy . I have in my 60 some odd years of modeling , almost totally ignored British Planes.
Don't ask why , I don't know the answer . I have also ignored most of the German planes too . It's not that I don't like them . I got to sit in a Spit at Farnesborough once . Fine plane indeed . I think it may be that I like certain multi - engined planes more . If it's got two or more I consider it .
I also like the idea of a " Plywood Wonder " ( The Mosquito ) Being so fast it could out-fly a lot of the bad guys ! Plus their Big bombers , although ugly to me , could certainly do their job well !
I recently received a Supermarine Sea-Fire- F46 / 47 from a friend . What a Plane ! I guess the fact it was carrier based is what made me want it . Also I have mostly bought Airfix's patrol boats and modified the heck out of them , even turning some into yachts .
This Airfix kit certainly surprised me with it's quality and fine detail on the parts . Panel lines are petite and good looking and they give you all the parts to do the F 46 ( land-based version ) or the F 47 based on Britian's Carriers like the H.M.S. Hermes during Korea . when they did this they also included the inner and outer wing bulkheads with detail in it . Simple , But a good start ! This tells me I need to bring up the numbers on my British planes up to and including my all time favorite - the Harrier early version !
Tanker - Builder OOPS! I do apologize . Moderators , would you move this post to planes for me ? I am so sorry .
