Thanks for the info Mike!

I'm getting overloaded by all the information there Confused [%-)] !

I have a bottle of Golden acrylic flow release that I use, but I guess an extender would be better.

It's strange, but before last year I never had any problems clogging with acrylics.

No, I have never tried any of Golden's paints but I would like to when I get a chance.
They are a little expensiv but are worth it for some applications.
I used to talk in emails sometimes to a woman who used them exclusively on her automotive graphics and she said they were unequalled in terms of durability and beauty. She died this past year and the art world lost one of the best airbrush artists around. If you would like to see her artwork here is her web site: http://www.ginag.com/

The only airbrush medium I have used was Createx airbrush extender but I have only used it on T-shirts and not on models.

my friend uses it actively in thinning Tamiya, and he really likes it. I haven't tried it myself, so I can't comment, but his Gundam models are really nice, with very smooth finishes, so I guess it works fine :)

Hungfarlow,

I didn't realize they made different mediums. The on-line store I bought mine from just listed airbrush medium. That is the one I bought andsubsequently have been very impressed with. It was also really cheap too.

Hope this helps.

hungfarlow,

Try this link for Golden's technical questions:
http://www.goldenpaints.com/technicaldata/faq/index.php
I would guess that the Airbrush Acrylics Airbrush Medium is what is recommended, although there may be something else.
They have a phone number and an email address that you can ask about these questions, as I know a few people who have called them and said they were very helpful.

Try these: techsupport@goldenpaints.com

Which Golden medium would be the one to use for airbrushing on models? There's so many of them.

I would consider that an insult to Golden colors. Big Smile [:D]Wink [;)]
Golden produces the best acrylics for airbrushing that there is.....period!
The Liquitex may be good also but nobody makes better acrylics than Golden.

Golden airbrush medium is probably the same thing as Liquitex. Golden is also white and from what I see, it does not affect the color.

Thanks for the help. The Liquitex I have is Low Viscosity..will that matter. Also...since it is white in color, did you have any problems with it lightening up the color you were spraying?

For what it's worth, I have had good luck with Golden airbrush medium. I did a search on Golden and ordered some from an on-line art supply store. Got the product a few days after the order. Up to that point, I was almost ready to give up on acrylics. Hope this helps.

I have used Liquitex to thin Model Master Acryl. I have found that MM Acrylics tend to dry very quickly and can restrict airflow while airbrushing. The Liquitex will retard drying and enhance flow. Bought mine at Michael's.

Has anyone heard of Liquitex airbrush medium. I read on the forum that Golden airbrush medium worked well for one person...I forget thier name. The craft shop that I go to did not have Golden in stock but had Liquitex. I have not tried it yet.
