RAL and RLM are acronyms associated with two German paint standards and are not limited to model paint manufacturers:
RAL : Reichsausschuss für Lieferbedingungen - (Committee of the German Reich for Terms and Conditions of Sale) German standards organisation. Often used in relation to paint codes used on German vehicles and vessels.
RLM : Reichsluftfahrtministerium - Reich Air Ministry. More specifically used in relation to Luftwaffe paint codes
