solvent for Future
Posted by DaveStar on Sunday, June 28, 2015 10:49 PM

I'm brush painting Future, and cleaning the brush with Windex doesn't seem to leave the brush soft after it dries.  Anything better to clean Future from a soft brush?

Never tried it but, because the bottle say to remove Future from floors with household ammonia in water. try adding household ammonia to water and soak the brush, Not sure of the dilution but I'm sure the ammonia is diluted first. Don't do much brush painting - does ammonia harm the brushes???

I'd go with plain water so long as the Future isn't drying on your brush.

I immerse the brush in water immediately after I'm done painting, before the Future has a chance to start drying.  This has worked well for me- if I wait too long, I'll soak it in a cup of Windex.

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

91% IPA removes every molecule of Future.

I hand brush Future and it produces a perfect smooth finish. I clean my brushes in plain tap water and yes the bristles will be stiff when dry but that is good in a way cause it keeps the bristles nice and straight. When I get ready to use the brush again I just gently run it a couple of times on the palm of my hand to loosen the bristles.

Like acrylic paint if you clean it up when its still wet you want have any problems.

Wait until it dries and its very difficult to remove.

Ever try to remove acrylic paint that has dried on your clothes?
