Flory Washes

I was thinking of getting a couple of bottles of this product but wonder if it's similar to the Vallejo or The Detailer washes which I have several bottles of.

I have not used the other two washes PJ so I can't compare. But I really like Flory washes. I did struggle to get it down on some surfaces, such as my main paint of choice, Xtracolour. But I solved it by adding a drop of washing up liquid. I actually prefer using it on flatt finishes especially if I want a more grubby look.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Thanks for the insight Bish. I just would like to know how it compares to The Detailer and Vallejo.

Not a lot of similarity among the three, IMO.

Flory is made with clay pigment, as I understand it. It is surprisingly fine and a joy to work with, again, IMO.

The Detailer has it's uses, however it leaves a rubbery film behind which limits it use for me, anyway.

I don't know much about Vallejo, though I have used them.

I think you will find that Flory behaves differently from both Vallejo and The Detailer.

Hope this somehow helps, Ernie.

Thanks Greg. Sprue Bros. is the only US retailer carrying it but they don't have the two colors I was looking for and Flory will no longer let retailers in the US carry it according to the email I got from Gordon at SB.

According to the Flory website, shipping is a flat 3.50 pounds to anywhere.

I can't remember if I got mine directly or not. Hannants might be another option??

Wonder why Flory is (Um..... I should say "are") cutting off US retailers?

Phil is the sole distributor for all his stuff now. Not sure what spurred that move. I do know that the sales part is run by a complete different company, so he can focus on his site and his video blogs.

I thought I had heard that ordering from Phil was pretty straightforward (again, just can't remember if I bought mine from Flory direct).

Let us know how you make out, Ernie.

Finally found my thread. This new system takes a bit to find things.

Tojo

AC panel lines is my main reason to try this product.

I wans't getting a response on Ebay so I ordered directly from their site, very quick and simple. Hopefully won't take a long time to get to the other side of the pond.
