Lacquer thinner.

We have been having discussions on safe vs dangerous thinners.  Yesterday for kicks I read the label on my can of lacquer thinner.  I knew that most of them were mixes of several solvents- I was astounded on how many. It contained methyl acetate, acetone, MEK, methyl alcohol, and about four more that I had never heard of.  No wonder it is wicked stuff!  I also keep cans of acetone and mek by themselves on hand.  Maybe I'll just stick with those.

Most heartily agreed, Don - The ingredients do warrant exceptional care and caution when using them, lacquer thinner, MEK, acetone and the rest can be extremely risky agents. I'm going with more and more acrylics, not only because they produce good results, but are more friendly and less dangerous.

Thanks for bringing it up, good info.
