My forty year old Badger 200, my normal goto brush, has finally given up the ghost, and I need to replace it. I am using a 150 that I bought last year on a super sale, but never had a project that required a DA brush. I am using it now, and have run into a couple of problems with the paint bottle adapter (mine is the suction feed version).
First problem is that the feed tube coming out of the bottle adapter keeps falling down out of the body of the brush. I just cannot force it into place so it will stay. I took a sharp centerpunch and a light hobby hammer and put a little dimple on the part that fits into the body (to raise a tiny ring), and that helps, but does not completely eliminate the problem. I have had the bottle, half full of paint, fall out when the brush was in the holder above the bench. When the bottle hit the bench it bounced around, shedding paint!!
Second problem- the nut that holds the metal bottle cap to the central feed tube keeps working loose. My compressor does not have a tank, and a slight vibration then feeds through the hose and I suppose this vibration loosens the nut. I am hesitant to put a lock washer on it. I am contemplating putting locktite on the nut. Anyone else bothered by this problem?
