Iwata Nozzle Sizes
Posted by Alex Shaw on Thursday, October 8, 2015 5:28 PM

Hi all,

I'm looking to replace my old Sparmax airbrush ahead of a SU-27 build, and I thought an Iwata would be a nice upgrade. So I looked around on a few sites and found that importing an HP-CS from Japan (via HobbyLink or eBay) would work out much cheaper than buying one domestically, even after factoring in any possible customs charges. Seems like a good deal right?

My only reservation is that all of these HP-CS's coming from Japanese sellers seem to use 0.3mm nozzles instead of the 0.35mm ones commonly found, and for the life of me I can't find a source of spare HP-CS 0.3mm nozzles. I'm aware the HP-C Plus uses a 0.3mm nozzle, would that fit? Thanks for any help.

I bought my HP-CS on Amazon from Japan and it came with the .35 needle.

Probably a typo. Should be .35 mm

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm probably overthinking this anyway, I can't imagine breaking a drop-in nozzle is particularly easy so I doubt there will ever been any need for a replacement.

That's what I thought too initially, but it even states a nozzle size of 0.3mm on the box. Maybe they did just misprint some of the boxes though.

Hi, just registered to post a reply. I recently had the same doubt. I wanted to buy the same airbrush, and on ebay was half the price of chicagoairbrushsuply.com. If you check the IWATA Japan website, you will see thethis airbush listed as a 0.3mm nozzle. I bougth mine from ebay, and in the box also says its 0.3mm. The box has a holographic Iwata logo, proof of authenticity. After a careful spection, i can say without doubt thats an original product. So, my conlusion is that this particular model is sold as 0.3mm in Japan, but in the USA is listed as 0.35mm?

Thanks for your input. I also ended up buying from Japan due to the cost saving, and have come to the conclusion you have. Needless to say I'm very happy with my purchase, I hope you are as well Big Smile

You will enjoy your new Iwata,

one slight caution, In the UK you get a 5 year full + 5 year labour warranty, but not on grey imports.
