i was presented with this ? today. i've always used lacquer thinner, it's how i was taght by my godfather when i "helped" at earl schieb.
mix what i need, then throw leftovers away, they won't keep.
what is your prefered method of thinning paint?

My preferred method is following the paint mfgs recommendation. However, since I find Testors enamel thinner hard to get at times, I then thin it with mineral spirits/turpentine. I have on occasion used lacquer thinner with enamel, with mixed results (pun not intended). Sometimes it worked fine, other times the paint curdled and lumped together.

I recently got a can of Testors enamel thinner at Hobby Lobby and honestly can't see the differenece in performance from using the cheaper thinner or turp from Home Depot.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!

After many years of using plain old thinner from the hardware or auto shop I tried Humbrol enamel thinner, like watered down metho, normal thinner is way better and a lot cheaper. Never tried laquer thinner with Humbrol enamels but I will and see what happens.
