Pressure regulator
Posted by Kardar2 on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 9:37 AM

I am going to Harbor Freight  today to buy a water separator and pressure regulator.do they sell good ones to get the job done ? I have had the HF 3 gal compressor for a year now and only had it on my lawn maintenance  trailer in case I needed air. So I am going to throw,it under the bench and mount the regulator on the edge of the work bench. Some where I read in a post that you drop pressure if you have a long hose. I still have that cheap plastic yellow coiled hose that came with the compessor  so I WAS GOING USE A QUICK CONNECT at the regulator then use a airbrush hose coming from the regulator to airbrush.  Does that sound good?

HF sells an inexpensive in-line regulator which is intended for connection between the air supply and a full size spray gun. If you were to install it between the line from your compressor and the airbrush hose you would have a way to accurately measure and vary the pressure at your airbrush.

Okay thanks..... I was looking HF online and looks like the little 1/4 in would work great being small and not in the way.

Yeah you should be fine with an HB  regulator,  inexpensive and gets the job done.

I would get a airbrush regulator that has fine increments of pressure (say 5 psi or so)especially if you do low pressure camouflage. Get one with a water trap.
