Ok, here are my paint racks. I purchased these from Micromark and they are very handy. Next I will be building my self some new modeling benches, and then I may design some different racks for the larger and/or odd sized paint jars.

I hate the droppers in Vallejo brand paints. Half the time I have to take the dropper off to stir the sediments that settled at the bottom.

The only way to make MM last (acrylics and enamels) is make sure you keep the threads and top lip of the bottles clean. I've got MM enamels going back 20 plus years that are still good to use. Even a couple of Pactra brand bottles from the 70s are still going strong.

I'd say the same with any paint brand bottles.

Yep FJ, Really like MMA paint line.

I'd like Model Master Acryl better if they came in a decent container. That cardboard insert inside the lid just doesn't last. I wish they came in a dropper bottle like Vallejo, or at least had a plastic insert like Tamiya.

I never use water to thin MM Acrylics. Use Testors Universal acrylic thinner instead for better adhesion.

I shudder at the thought of having to us MM Acryl. Ick!

I don't have a rack. I have drawers. I'd take a pic, but compared to these photos you guys would think I hoarde the stuff.

Then you're not using the right thinner for acrylics.

When I use Model Master acrylics for airbrushing, I use Testors Universal Acrylic thinner (green bottle)with zero problems. Sprays on really nice and smooth.

Nice racks Eric and Hypertex ! I just thin with water.

I use typical paint prep, wash parts, primer coat etc.

Works pretty good that said MMA does not take

to kindly to masking tape. Easy way around this

by using tin foil to cover the model and using a

cardboard card to control overspray.

So instead of using a paint that you can mask over - which is literally every other model paint I've tired (and that's most of them) - you choose to modifiy your work flow to accomodate an inferior paint? More power to you. It makes absolutely no sense to me, but ok. It's not like there are a shortage of other brands to choose from.

Hmm, I've actually questioned myself now and had to go back and read up on some previous work that I had posted here. Yup, it works and sprays fantastic.

I used to have some problems with MM Acryl when it came to thinning and tip drying. Tried using their own thinner and ISO to no avail. I have since began thinning with Mr. Surfacer Leveling Thinner and they spray and adhere just fine since the switch.

I built two racks, and I still don't have enough room on hold all my paint. They are ugly, but they work.

Paint Racks

The one on the left is made of wood. The one on the right is made from L-shaped pieces of gutters or siding pieces ($5 for 12 feet at Home Depot). I just cut to length and screwed the pieces to a piece of plywood, then mounted the plywood on the wall. Quick and dirty.

Nice! And a convenient spot right above the spray booth it looks. Here is mine. Looking back, I could have probably added nearly twice as many shelves. Perhaps when the cave gets finished out this summer I will build another.

Here is mine, I made my self. I put mine above

the spray booth for easy access. I am a Model Master

Acrylic disciple.
