if you simply want to paint, an hour would be good. If you want to sand it I would leave it 24 hours.

Bob, can't help with the primer but all the Alclad metal lacquers dry to the touch very quickly but I always let them sit for a few hours before handling - particularly the 'shiny' ones. I did an F86 in polished aluminum - it was dry within minutes but subsequent handling and some of the aluminum rubbed off back to black.

Alclad 2 Primer Microfiller Drying Time?
Posted by Radial9 on Sunday, February 14, 2016 8:27 AM

I wish to do some minor touch up on the two coats of Alclad 2 black primer and microfiller before airbrusing the aluminum. How long do I have to wait? Directions on primer bottle says wait 30 minutes between coats. Does this also apply to the aluminum finish on top of the primer? Nothing on the Alclad Aluminum bottle about wait times between coats.

Thanks!

Bob
