NEVER THROW AWAY YOUR SPRUE!!! I save it for all kinds of builds. You guys probably don't know this, but in the scene where Ripley turns on all the lights (electronics) in Alien you can see where the Apogee guys glued some sprue beside a switch the she turns everything on with. Look closely - you'll see what I mean. If not maybe I'll see if I can post a screen cap of it. Any way - Yeah, what they all said. I have a 32 Ford two door coupe that is yellow, but I haven't painted it any other colour yet. You don't have to primer over yellow to get silver to cover over it. In fact that primer may inhibit the paint drying. Use 600 grit wet-or-dry sanding paper with it to make the surface smooth and give some bite to the plastic. I'm thinking of repainting this in candy apple red, or making a ZZtop Eliminator car from it.

Maybe a picture of a squirrel playing a harmonica will make you feel better?
Yup. I save the sprues for stirring sticks, stretching for antennas, etc...
Either that or multiple coats of silver.
Yellow, thinking back...
Various research sub kits.
Some old Airfix kits maybe.
For Heavens sake keep the sprues. All kinds of stuff that'd be useful.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
It probably would help for good coverage.
I'm painting a silver color over yellow plastic. Is it necessary to prime the plastic?
