Future over Metalizer?
Posted by RichardI on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 7:27 AM
Is it OK to airbrush future over top of a ModelMaster metalizer? Is there any difference between covering buffing and non-buffing metalizers with Future? Should I maybe use clear gloss acrylic instead?

Thanks,
Rich Cool [8D]

Hi
Future airbrushed over MMM should be just fine, but allow the MM to fully cure. Leave it overnight, before spraying with future. Also, if you're going to overspray a buffing finish, it kind of defeats the purpose, as buffing metalizers are meant to be buffed to a shine. I guess if you wanted a gloss coat afterwards it'll b fine. Just give it enough time to cure and it should be fine.
