Hey guys!
Just thought I'd share what I've been using to hold small parts, while airbrushing.
There is a product you can purchase in just about any store that sells glue, even a CVS or Rite Aid, called DAP blue stik. Its for tacking stuff up to walls. Its basically a weaker version of putty, that doesnt dry out.
I had about 50 used cotton swabs, from painting or gluing, that I've had piled up, in hopes of repurposing them. Came in a kit of 100 at the dollar store.
Anyway, i cut both ends off, even though the one end would serve as a grip, having that cotton so close is begging for a paint issue. Then i just apply a very small ball of the DAP to one end, and push it into a part i have.
Its not the strongest stuff, so i reccommend finding either a groove, hole, or center, on bigger parts, so you arent fighting gravity.
Get it on their right, and it will stay on for several coats primer/paint/clear.
I also got an empty carboard box, turned it upside down, and poked small holes, so the swab sticks fit snuggly in. This way i have them all up in the air, before & after painting. Just dont bang the box too hard or you might topple a piece.
It's been working great for me. After dropping several yesterday, i found this solution and it allows me to move from piece to piece without having to compromise the fresh paint!
