Syntetic Lacquer over Acrylic
Posted by rsm.gbg on Sunday, April 3, 2016 7:05 AM

Hi,

I have Air brusched Tamiya XF-8 Flat Blue on my Tamiya 1/48 corsair F4U-1D but it is too Blue.
The correct colour in the instruction is Tamiya AS-8 which is in a Spray can.I can decan it and use it with my air brusch but would I destroy the Acrylic?

It got a base coat of Tamiya Grey Surface Primer and then XF-8.
The other option would be to mix Acrylics to get the same tone.
I found this conversion.
AS8 Navy Blue  =  XF-17:5 + XF-8:3 + XF-2:2

Any insight on my options appreciated.
