Clear cote gone cloudy

I use the Humbrol gloss clear and it's great, then I tried the matt clear and it was white cloudy in the bottle and it tested the same, spilt milk cloudy, I'm guessing the satin is the same or maybe it was humid as you say, was it cloudy in the bottle?

As for fixing, go over it with Clear gloss and it should be ok (not in humid conditions).

Quite a few complaints about the Humbrol Matt clear on the web.

So just a cote of Gloss clear should magically just make the milky stuff vanish?

if its cloudy from humidity then yes but if there was to much matt agent in the matt clear then who knows, prob not, but cant hurt to try.

Was the bottle cloudy?

Its Satin not Matt and yes very cloudy in the bottle.
I've done some investigation on my cheap air-pressure tank from Aldi.
It doesnt have any moisture separator, that might be the problem.

Moisture could be a problem but not in this case I don't think, it's the satin clear, I and many others have tried to get some response from Humbrol but as normal not a word. The gloss has been out for ages but the satin and matt are new. 

Can't hurt to try gloss clear and see if it helps but I'm not confident if it will help now with faulty product. Let me know how it go's.

Forgot to mention, if your using a air tank you probably wont have moisture problems anyway.

Air cools in the tank and thats why you drain them, however I have never seen water in my tank or water trap ever. It's one of these but unbadged.

I used a mix of Future and Tamiya clear flat on a kit and way over did it on the Tamiya, it came out not only cloudy but white. A coat of straight Future cleared it up.

After reading on Humbrol it says to spray very thinly.

I wish we could get Future in Australia.
The only option I found was very expensive, like $40 a bottle + shipping

No it's the satin and matt by Humbrol, the gloss clear is great and very much like future from what I can tell, as close as we get here in oz.

Agreed. (and yes, it does work)

Glosscoat and Dullcoat can fog with just ambient humidity-  don't need water from compressor.  Both are lacquers.  The fast evaporation from lacquers cools the surface below dewpoint when humidity is high.  Water condenses on surface and is rough, causing the white fog. In fact any lacquer can do this, not just GC and DC.  Learned about this when learning to paint cars with lacquer. It is a problem.

Oh, BTW, Testors did bring out enamel gloss coat, but they seem to have gone back to lacquers (thank goodness).
