Clear Coats
Posted by Rangatron on Friday, May 27, 2016 6:01 AM

Hi

I understand that clear coats are used for sealing down paint and preventing damage of undercoats. They are also used to stop decal silvering and help washes flow.

I don't want a glossy finish, so can I just use a flat cost instead?

Thank you

Tamiya please produce these models: TOG II*, Bob Semple Tank, Renault FT-17, Black Prince, 1/350 HMS Vanguard and more British stuff! If anyone works Tamiya or can pass this on, please do so!

Decals adhere better on gloss clear coat - flat clear coat not so much.. Yes, you can throw a coat of flat clear coat afterwards.
