New Badger Extreme 105.

That happened to me with my Patriot 105. I cant remember what I crushed with a plier but I ordered another part and let Badger know I was not pleased but never heard back. Like you say who is tightening these things. Mine happened 2 years ago so it is still a problem I see.

Hey, just a heads up if you're considering ordering one of these.

Mine was delivered a week ago, it's going back, first ever Badger return. Delivered with front bits so overtightened it took small channel lock pliers to remove, rubber O ring distorted and cut, nozzle so firmly in place it had to be removed with pliers.

Manual clearly states just hand tightening for these parts. Who can be assembling these for Badger, Mighty Joe Young?

A small screw on bottom of body near front serves as PAC control, threads in body are greatly oversized compared with the screw, sloppy and loose fit allows air to escape around screw sides, plus it's very easy to accidently change screw adjustment, due to poor fit.

Airbrush does not function all that well, due to these problems, recommend waiting for a while until these early models have the kinks worked out. Never unhappy with any Badger before, this one does not meet their customary standards as I have come to expect.

I'm pleased to say I received a call this evening from Ken Schlotfeldt, (please forgive the spelling,) the President of Badger Airbrush. He had seen this post and made his personal response to me, expressing his regrets that the one I bought was not up to par. He related the problem well, a very new product in the lineup was still undergoing development, and this one accidently made it to the final delivery line. I fully accept and understand his explanation. 

This one is being replaced with a fully developed and normal production unit, I expect to have it shortly. That is typical of the full service I have come to depend on from Badger, excellent value products and customer service.

It is just amazing the support they provide. I've had direct contact with them a few times over the past 8 years, and even though i'm based in Australia, they are still easy to deal with and happy to help out.

Look forward to an updated review of the Extreme 105 once it's replaced.

I have not seen one yet except via on-line reviews.  I am wondering if you already own a Krome (which I do), why I would get one?  I realize the tall trigger and the valve to help spray splatter, but other than that a Krome has a .3mm needle and a torpedo nozzle.

Love Badger products, just wondering if I am missing something.

That is why I say that you can't go wrong with a Badger! And no I do not work for them. They have outstanding customer service.

I don't have a Krome, or even used one, but I think it may have the same front bits as the Sotar, which a friend loaned to me to try. My problem with the Sotar was due to Father Time, I'm 75, not much hand agility left, I had a dickens of a time handling the tiny parts for cleaning and re-assembly. 

My 105 and the Extreme will allow easy handling for maintenance, plus they will spray as fine as I will ever need to do.

The Krome is a very nice looking AB though, seems like a quality unit, I'm glad to read that you like it so well.
