Airbrush - which one ?

Not familiar with either one, but the Chinese manufacturers are known for hit or miss products.

I use an Iwata HP-CS Eclipse.Not top of the line,but solid and dependable easy to use and clean.Go with a solid proven manufacturer,you'll be happier in the long run.

Not all brand name airbrushes are expensive. You can get a nice airbrush / compressor set for less than $200 at tcpglobal.com.

For Gods sake look elsewhere besides Amazon! There are plenty of places that sell airbrushes far cheaper than Amazon! 

I'd stay away from Chinese brands though. Look in Hobby Lobby. You can find a few models and use the 40% coupon. I think you'll find them affordable to your liking.

True,but will they support it as well as Iwata customer service ? That would be my concern.

I use a badger 350, it's affordable and works great for me.

 

I have to second this statement.  I have been a Badger-guy since I started spraying.  The 200 is a great entry level airbrush if you're not ready to tackle dual action.   I still use my 200 in concert with my Anthem.  Great airbrushes. 

Not to disparage Iwata or any other manufacturers.  I've just been too pleased with Badger to try the others.

Then again, who says you need 1 type of airbrush? LOL! I still want to get a Badger and a Harder & Steenbeck too! 

I agree that you would be better off with a major brand airbrush.  But, I notice you are in India, and I don't know what prices and availability are there.  So, if these are all you can afford, I'd say go for it.  You might find the small cup of the Aerograph to be a limitation. The other airbrush appears to be very similar to the Master G-22.  It might be useful to read my review of that airbrush.  The compressor looks just like the Badger TC910 that I reviewed.  It should do fine.

Hi, Sherbir - I believe Bick is very knowledgeable about airbrushes and using them, so if he has had good luck with the HS30 you might have the same results. I can't speak from experience, but I have read that there is quite a range of quality in these knock-offs, from good to bad. If you do get one I hope it's good.

I was just looking at Chicago Airbrush and TCP Global, they offer good prices and package deals on AB's and compressors, worth a look for you. I am one that feels a major brand is for the best, if you look for sales at the major factory authorized discount dealers you might find a good buy.

For now I'm exclusively in the Badger camp, affordable prices and excellent quality, very durable and easy to use/maintain. My most frequently used is the Badger 200G, gravity feed single action, it does most of what I need. If I could only have one AB, that would be the one.

Do yourself a favor and get a Badger. They are not expensive, have a fantastic warantee, and great quality. I own two badgers, a 150 that I bought in 1978 and still use, and a  Renegade Velocity with X fine tip for xtra fine work.

Last year my Renegade developed what appeared to be an internal crack and Badger replaced it with a brand new AB. Talk about standing behind their product.

I'm pretty certain those Chinese knock offs will not last 38 years like my Badger 150. 

Badgers are good, but they're not cheap in India.  On Amazon India, the Badger 100 is the equivalent of US $170.  A Badger 350 set is $127. The airbrush Sherbir is looking at is the equivalent of US $22.47.  That may be a major difference for him.

Holy cow, (literally,) that's a lot of Rupees for a 350.  You're right Don, that would be a major deciding factor. Thanks for pointing it out.

Sherbir, I have several Badger airbrushes, some are duplicates. All in fine working order, if you would like to have a good Badger 200, (siphon feed single action, including cup and air hose,) recently overhauled and ready for work, since you may have a rather restrained budget I'll give you one. I'm happy to pay the postage to boot.

All you would need is the means to hook up the airhose to the air source, if the compressor has a standard fitting it will fit fine. Adaptors are easy to find if needed.

Thank you all you fine gentlemen. That sure was a lot of good advise. Don nailed it. Yes the Badger/Iwata/Paasche airbrushes are way too expensive in India. The conversion Don made was absolutely spot on and that has been the deciding factor for me not to choose on these, as much as I would have loved to.

That being said, Patrick thank you for offering me that airbrush of yours. But if you're shipping from the US, God alone knows how much customs I might end up paying for it, and, in how many months would the package reach me, if at all it does. So I wouldn't wana risk that. I had a pretty bad experience ordering an Eduards 1/144 scale MiG-21 dual combo kit about a year ago from a US website, coz it wasn't available in India. By the time the product reached me (1 month instead of the 15 days and all the hassle of tracking where my package was), I had paid 4 times the actual price of the model :(

Bick thanks for that review on the HS-30. I read through it. Pretty nice and detailed review. I guess I would then go for the same.

Good luck, Sherbir.  One nice thing about Amazon; if you get a bad one it's easy to return it.  Don't over tighten the head.  There's a little rubber O-ring that can be damaged and affect alignment.

I feel ant airbrush is better than no airbrush so I applaud you taking the step to get one. The ones you spoke of should be good and if you can afford them then so much the better! Amazon has always been good for me so it looks like you are on your way.

Thank you for stopping by and looking it up. This is definitely a great source of encouragement. I am now working on a 1/200 scale Zvezda Li-2 kit which will be my first ever practice kit with the airbrush. Lets hope it turns out well.
