I currently thin Tamiya with a certain UK brand of concentrated screen wash. Unfortunatly i have not been able to find it lately so after some digging, i am planning on switching to isopropyl alcohol.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Typically I use the branded thinner with the specific acrylic paints. I recently picked up a bottle of the Ultimate Modeling Products (UMP) thinner from the UK, and some of their airbrush cleaner. I really like both of these products. I have done some testing with this thinner on various brands of paint, ie. AK, Ammo of Mig, Testors, Vallejo, and Tamiya. They all have worked just fine. Some of the paints need a little bit more thinner to paint and thankfully there is a "cheat sheet" from UMP on suggested thinning ratios. I have also used 91% ISO to thin some acrylics, dont use this for Vallejo though, you'll end up with a nasty snot-like mess.

Hey guys, I was wondering what you guys thin your acrylics with (im using all the AK acrylics) I bought one bottle of the AK Acrylic thinner and Im flying through it. At $8.95 a bottle, I was wondering if there was something more affordable or something that has much more quantity, more bang for the buck if you know what I mean. Ive read that some people have used windex. Is that a viable option?

Thanks for your time!

I've been known to kiss a fish or two, with a little bit of tongue. Don't judge me.
