I don't have an EZ starter, but it's pretty much a clone of the Badger 350.  The 250 is for sure simpler, but a 350 and your EZ starter should be just as trouble free.  The 250 lacks a needle and doesn't spray as fine, although it's good enough for many purposes.

I don't know what the spare bottle is for if the spout cap doesn't fit it.  That was the case with my Harbor Freight 350 clone.

A brief review of your EZ and maybe a photo or two of the parts would be interesting.

Have a look at my review of the 250 and the one on my 350 and you will see the difference.  They are both very easy to clean.

If this is your first airbrush, practice on some junk plastic before you paint a model.

Didn't see a review of the Testor's Mighty Mini set.

Did see some remarks about low air pressure and

avoiding all-in-one compressors.

What PSI do you think the Mighty Mini puts out?

I can't find any specs on that compressor, but it looks like a glorified aquarium pump.  You might want to read the reviews on Amazon.  If you don't have enough air, the paint will spatter.  To me, anything less than 1/6 hp is marginal.

I want to avoid clogging this time around.

Sorry, I can't help you much with paint.  Maybe some of the guys here who are more knowledgeable about it will chime in.  You might have to start a new thread with that question.

I think you are going to need a bigger compressor.  External mix airbrushes like your EZ starter do best with 25 to 35psi.  And, that's operating psi, not static.  Volume is as important as pressure.  But, it may surprise me.  Try it and let us know how it goes.

I think you are making the same mistake many beginners make of trying to go too cheap. In the long run, you will end up wasting money. Get a real Badger 350 or Paasche H and you will have something reliable with good performance.  Get a real compressor with a regulator and moisture trap.  A lot of modelers are happy with this one.  Then, if you have clogging problems, it's due to the paint.  If you are in this hobby very long, you will spend much more on kits and supplies than a decent airbrush setup will cost.

that it's equivalent to the Paasche and Badger as far as features.

I didn't think alot about the air gauge and moisture trap before.
