Older air brush
Posted by olddog on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 12:19 PM

I have found in my "stash box" 4 different single stage air brush sets.Trouble is I didn't put the manuals with them.I'm thinking these are from the late 90's ? Can't find any reference to them.Where would I find something on them ?       Thanks

Try to get photos later, don't have smart phone

Look at the brand, (Badger, Paasche, etc,) the model should be engraved as well, (example, VL, 105, 200,) then look them up on Google search or the manufacturers site. Often the manual is there and can be printed.

No name stamped on them, thinking Testors, but not sure. All are set up up for canned air.

The only airbrush I have that is marked like that is my Harbor Freight single action.  Is this what your airbrushes look like?

Olddog -

Don's suggestion is a good one, the Badger 350 I used for some time years ago did a great job, for a starter airbrush. On ebay right now there is one at $15, far below list price, I think it's brand new.

In the ebay header box type in Badger 350, if you're interested I think it's a good deal.

Some time ago I bought a Badger 150 knockoff (or, made by Badger for a house brand).  It worked fine, but the documentation that came with it was meager and I was having trouble reassembling it after cleaning.  I did a google search for "Badger 150 manual" and found it right away.  Was able subsequently to reassemble it with no problems.  It is amazing how many manuals are on web today.  Software, hardware, whatever, the manual is probably out there.

For the compressor, I'd suggest checking something like Bookoo or Ebay and look for someone selling a tanked compressor.  I found one from Harbor Freight it turns out for a fraction of what it would cost new, and then went and got a good regulator for it.  The regulator and water trap are what makes it work and be adjustable to get the performance out of the brushes you want.  Only down side is its a bit noisy when its running.  Good luck with your surgery, and let us know how things work out.
