I have a Badger 200 and want to change the tip. How do you change such a small tip without damaging it

The airbrush unscrews and comes apart at each of the knurled surfaces along the main axis of the airbrush.

I've only been able to purchase head assemblies, which are the second knurl. The parts list in the user's manual gives the part number for every little piece, but I haven't seen most of them sold individually.

If you're changing head size (i.e. from medium to fine), you'll also have to buy a new needle (same designation as the head); you change this by unscrewing the last knurled surface (behind the adjusting screw) (pliers help on this step)

I damaged this part myself awhile ago... I just purchased a new head assembly rather than go through the trouble of finding a place to buy the part and then fixing it...

But here's how it got damaged in the first place... I had the front end of the airbrush dissasembled for cleaning, and it just sort of popped out (and then I stepped on it before realizing where it was). My recollection is that the part wasn't threaded, so your best option probably is to use an old needle/the flat end of a good needle to push it out from the back.

As for putting the new one in, your guess is as good as mine... I'm still a novice with the airbrush myself, and shelled out the extra bucks to buy a new head assembly.

By the way, why are you changing the tip? If it's damaged already, I wouldn't worry about damaging it anymore... I don't think you're going to be able to fix it on your own. If it's because you want to alternate between spray sizes, I'd think that it'd be much faster and easier to buy a new head assembly so that you only have to change 2 parts (needle and head) rather than 3 (needle, crown, and tip)

Very carefully. I used a needle nose pliar to losen it from the ring where it screws to the head. Don't even thing about touching the tip with the pliars. After having it losen I used my fingers to unscrew. It is only worth replacing the tip if the tip has been damaged. If you want to change the size of the tip then get the whole assembly. It is very difficult to remove just the tip without damaging it.

I was thinking that it unscrewed and was not pressed in to. I've never taken mine out, however it seems like I do remember seeing backed out once and I had to screw it back in some.

I agree with the others .... just replace the entire assembly and save the headaches.
