Chrome Yellow was the Navy color. At least the name. IIRC, the Air Corps used a different shade. I would have to check my library on that.

Thanks guys!
I have been told that the army and navy used different color yellows on the wings of their aircraft during that pre WWII era. Is that chrome yellow for the army or navy planes?
The USN color was "Chrome Yellow" matched to today's FS# 13538. Essentially a gloss version of Insignia Yellow 33538.
H329 in the Gunze line according to IPMS Stockholm's site...
Can't help you with suppliers, but "Aqueous Hobby Color" is their acrylic range, while "Mr Color" is lacquer based.
In the Aqueous Hobby Color range, Orange Yellow is H-24. In the Mr Color range, it is 58.
Hi All!
I am trying to find the right Gunze paint for my Navy models. People have recommended Gunze orange-yellow for the top wings of my 1930s birds.
What does Gunze have in that color---I am seeing all kinds of names--Mr Color, etc. Which is acrylic or enamel? Also who carries this stuff?
