Airbrush Problem

I have the same airbrush.  Love it, but it takes a lot of cleaning to get it to run smooth.  It took me about a year to get the cleaning down to about 15 minutes and getting back in service.  It is easy to break down and get all the small parts clean.  I bent my needle too and noticed it really messed up my flow, paint dried to the bent part and spackled really bad.  I thought my nozzle cap needed to be replaced too, but after replacing the part, it didnt change anything. It was all needle.  Back up and running and it works like new.  I recommend full break down and cleaning after about 10 uses.  I put a dab of petroleum jelly on the spring from the air inlet housing and a tiny bit on the needle, about the center of the housing, keeps the trigger control smooth.

It was the air inlet. Some way, some how, paint dried up in it, so it was stuck open. It wouldn't fully close. I hate cleaning my Neo but like you, I've got the cleaning time down to where air-brushing isn't to much of a chore. I do "prime" a new model at the same time I'm finishing up the one I'm working on just so I don't have to clean my AB twice. Work smarter not harder, I guess. Thanks, glad I'm not the only one.

Thanks, Phil. I thought I cleaned my AB pretty thoroughly, but have neglected that area. It was kind of gummed up with paint somehow. Cleaned and put a dab of oil on the air valve, hopefully that fixes it. Thanks, again.

it leaks air out of the nozzle cap before I even start spraying.

If you mean that there's air coming out even before you depress the trigger, it would suggest a fault in the air valve.

I don't have a Neo, but that makes sense to replace the piece.
