Looking for a skilled painter

I am a former Naval Aviator from the Vietnam era. I have a factory model A-4E given to me by McDonnell Douglas. I am looking for someone to paint the model in VA-36 Roadrunner colors from CVW-17 cruise onboard USS Forrestal.  This is a 1/48 scale model which has languished in my den for some 50 years doing nothing more than collecting dust. Another alternative would be to find someone to make one of a kind, custom decals to be applied. Any suggestions from you experts would certainly be appreciated.

Superscale made a sheet for VA-36 A-4B

You can mix teh markings with that with another sheet for the Forrestal Air Wing 17 markings.

But according to A4Skyhawk.org, VA-36 flew A-4Cs on that cruise not A-4Es

VA-144 Roadrunners flew A-4Es

A factory model from MD? Wow!

If it's anything like the old Polaris SLBM models I inherited from family, that plastic is gonna be hella brittle. You'd be looking at a complete strip down with repaint and new decals. And any fiddly bits like antenna or undercarriage that are glued on.....man, I don't even wanna think about it. Tricky.

Is the model of sentimental value? I would almost try to preserve it as-is, best I could, and just find the appropriate kit and decals and commission someone to do a fresh build in the markings you need. Maybe you could put the old model next to the new one in a sort of 'then & now' display.
